Brawijaya or Prabu Brawijaya is a title that is considered attached to the ruler of Majapahit, especially Brawijaya V who is considered the last ruler. As a historical title, this title is doubtful because until now there is no source from the Majapahit era that mentions the existence of the title Brawijaya. The term "Brawijaya" itself only appeared in later literary works in the form of chronicles and fibers, such as Babad Tanah Jawi, Serat Kandha, and Serat Darmogandul; as well as sources of folklore. Babad and fiber sources contain different information about Brawijaya, as well as sources of folklore. In addition, archaeological sources in the form of inscriptions made at the end of Majapahit show that the last Majapahit ruler had the title Girindrawarddhana and ruled in 1474-1519 AD.
